Product Highlight

— Introducing the ETC Ion —

With the ease, power and operational style of Eos in a small, affordable package, Ion's small footprint – 19" wide only - is the perfect solution for space-challenged environments and small venues. Providing fully integrated control of conventional and moving lights, Ion packs a punch.

Elegant, highly intuitive and simple to use, Ion will satisfy the needs of beginners and pros alike. But you don't need a PhD in Ion to use it! Start with the everyday (channel 5 at full) and let the full potential of Ion – like the powerful effects package, marking and timing functions – unfold with your experience. And it's an easy step from Ion to Eos, so the knowledge gained will work for you professionally for years to come.

Ion hosts up to six USB fader wings – the 1x20, 2x10 and 2x20 - for a total of 240 additional submasters with paging controls. The desk can support one or two external high-resolution DVI monitors, which can also be touchscreens.

Ion is available in three basic configurations – 1024 outputs, 1536 outputs or 2048 outputs. Each of these versions supports channel numbering from 1 - 5000. Remote control is also provided with the Net3 Radio Focus Remote.

Use Ion in a stand-alone system or as a remote programming station for an Eos system. When Ion is used as a client in an Eos system, it supports the full output of that host Eos system.

Handy's Helpful Hints
A Tip for College Students

Who Want to Go to LDI 2009

In 2008 ETC will be, for the ninth year, taking a deserving group of college students to LDI. Continuing the company's dedication to education, ETC will award six students all-expense-paid trips to the 2008 LDI tradeshow in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 17 - 19. Undergraduate seniors and graduate students in lighting design, theater technology, or closely related fields are encouraged to apply. The sponsorship includes roundtrip airfare to the tradeshow, hotel accommodations, all meals, a full conference pass, an exclusive student reception, and great ETC swag. Recipients will check out the latest in entertainment technology, rub elbows with veteran luminaries of the industry, meet talented peers, and go behind-the-LDI-scenes with ETC.

The application deadline for LDI 2008 was April 30th; so check out their website (etcconnect.com) early next year to see if they are planning to continue the tradition in 2009.

Plan Early for
Your Costume Needs

As we enter the end of the school year, many theatre departments begin planning their shows for next Fall and Spring.  Now is a good time to remember that ATC can handle all your costume needs!  We have a growing list of show plots in stock, such as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Children of Eden (Beauty and the Beast will be coming soon – possibly for the 2009/2010 school year).  We are also more than happy to put together a plot for any show!  In addition to full show plots, we always offer individual costumes for rent to help complete your production.

We pride ourselves on personalized service and quality costumes.  This is why you should start thinking of us now.  While we can usually accommodate last minute needs, a minimum six to eight week lead-time is needed for your complete show to be built.  Space in the schedule fills up fast, so be sure to get your requests in as soon as possible!

In the Spotlight

Please send us your show/audition dates, times, etc. and we will post them here.  Make sure to mention you would like to be included in our free newsletter listings for "In the Spotlight".
